ACC System for EVs based on MATLAB Simulink
The cruise controller required to control the constant driving speed so that can provide safety and comfort for driver. ACC system tracks the pre-set speed and follows the lead vehicle autonomously using lead vehicle speed and distance. For study considering simple ACC system for EVs with PID with adaptive law for speed adaptation. To design ACC system: DC motor, load torque and controller equations are designed and module design is done using MATLAB/Simulink 2015 control.
Scope of project
The automobile manufacturers are developing EVs to eliminate emission, increase efficiency, superior controllability over the powertrain and so on. In this project will describe the details of Mathematical model, Simulink model and system response with and without PID controller, analysis of system in Time and Frequency domain and simulating ACC for EVs system for different cases (Using MATLAB/Simulink 2015a).
Description
To implement an ACC, need to understand the EV system. It consists of two parts, electric motor and vehicle platform. The one of widely used electric motor in EVs powertrains system is the DC motor (Crowder, 2006) and EV platoform is as normal Vehicle. The Figure above shows the schematic model of EVs including cruise control system.
